On November 3, 2020, MP Tony Baldinelli was pleased to speak in support of his colleague’s Private Member’s Bill, C-218, which seeks to legalize single game sports betting in Canada.
This important legislation will benefit our entire tourism community and those thousands of workers employed by the two casinos in our riding of Niagara Falls. It will increase Canada’s ability to compete internationally in the global gaming industry, and it will also bring this activity under responsible regulation. In addition, legalizing this activity will generate additional government revenues needed to fund and invest in important social programs and infrastructure; it will help create new jobs, and blunt the ability of organized crime to operate and profit from illegal gaming activities, which currently exists.
There are many reasons to legalize single game sports betting in Canada, and he sincerely hopes his parliamentary colleagues from all parties, agree. Please watch.
