Canadian Manufacturing Declining Under Justin Trudeau

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON – Tony Baldinelli, Conservative Shadow Minister for Manufacturing and Export Promotion, and Luc Berthold, Conservative Shadow Minister for Health, issued the following statement on the Monthly Survey of Manufacturing released today:

“Today’s numbers released by Statistics Canada confirm that under Justin Trudeau, Canada’s manufacturing sector is hurting as sales decreased over the month of September.

“Supply chain issues are hampering Canada’s manufacturing sector and the countless Canadians that it employs. Instead of getting back to work and proposing solutions on how we can fix these issues and support Canadian manufacturing, Justin Trudeau refused to recall Parliament sooner.

“Today’s report also highlights that these supply chain issues will continue into the next year, meaning long-term impacts to Canadian manufacturing. This is unacceptable and must be addressed by this Liberal government.

“It’s time to get back to work. Canada’s Conservatives will continue to support middle-class Canadians working in manufacturing and fight to secure our economic future.”
