HASCAP is Failing Canadian Tourism Businesses

On May 10, 2021, Niagara Falls MP Tony Baldinelli asked a question about HASCAP to the federal government in Question Period.

While the national tourism unemployment rate remains high at 13% in March, the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario recently said that only 4% of their membership have taken up the federal government’s HASCAP program. This program was supposed to save struggling tourism businesses who have been hardest hit by this pandemic. Instead, it’s failing them. Please watch his question to the government on this important issue.
