MP Tony Baldinelli named Conservative Deputy Shadow Minister for Transport

Tony Baldinelli, the Member of Parliament for the riding of Niagara Falls, has been named as the Conservative Deputy Shadow Minister for Transport.

Named to the post on Friday, December 20, Mr. Baldinelli will work with and support the Conservative Shadow Minister of Transport, Todd Doherty. Mr. Doherty is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Cariboo-Prince George in British Columbia. In the 42nd Parliament, Mr. Doherty served as the Shadow Minister for Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, as well as the Shadow Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway.

Together, Mr. Doherty and Mr. Baldinelli will serve as Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition for this important portfolio, providing policy input and needed oversight over the government’s future transportation plans in Canada. Their goals include not only holding the Trudeau Liberals to account, but also working with the minority government and other parliamentarians to advance areas of common interest for the betterment of our country.

“I am pleased and honoured to have been named the Conservative Deputy Shadow Minister for Transport”, said Mr. Baldinelli. “There are many important federal transportation policy matters both local to Niagara, and across our great country. This will be a busy portfolio with a lot of opportunity for policy advancement, as well as needed oversight over this government’s proposed future transportation initiatives. I am excited to get work on these issues with my colleagues.”

"I look forward to working with Tony," said Todd Doherty, Shadow Minister for Transport. "I know his experience and expertise will add nicely to our Conservative Team in Ottawa."
