Yesterday, I asked the federal government to commit to excluding 100% Canadian grown wines from the new excise tax being implemented on July 1st, if those wines were produced before this date. This new tax is a result of the Liberal’s failure to protect the sector and the 2006 excise exemption which the Conservatives provided, allowing the industry to flourish.
